Welcome to Residency, RWA Heartbeat's Online Classes. To enroll, we offer two options: online enrollment via Paypal and a printable mail-in enrollment form. Get the most out of your conference experience with tips and advice from two very experienced conference goers (who, together, have attended a total of 38 conferences).
Topics covered:
- Pre-planning your conference experience.
- Conference expectations - what, exactly, can you gain from the conference.
- How to pick your workshops.
- Meal planning.
- When you're alone - how to make friends, find seat-mates at lunch & be part of a group.
- Networking - when it's proper, when it's not.
- Making your way through the big events - book signing and RITA & GH gala.
- How to get the most out of your Agent/editor appointment(s).
- Should I take my computer and prepared to work?
- Should I take my manuscript for someone to see?
- What to do when it's over - timelines on requests, coping with conference letdown, making sense of everything you've learned.
- Q&A throughout the workshop.
Instructor Bios:
Award winning, best-selling author, Dianne Drake is now working on her 30th book and currently writes for the Harlequin Mills & Boon Medical line.
Dianne has attended about 30 conferences and has been a speaker at 25 of them. She's the program director for a published writer's conference in New York in 2008. Her next releases are:
